Hello, and welcome to Paratus Business News, the first and only Survival and Self-Reliance Industry trade magazine. We are a new publication covering the business of survival.
What does that mean exactly? Well, for starters, we’re not here to tell you how to pack your Bug Out Bag, what to grow on your urban farm, what weapons to use in an apocalypse, or how to live off the grid.
In fact, we are not really a consumer-oriented publication, although we believe consumers will appreciate our work. As the Survival Industry trade magazine, we are a business-to-business (B2B) publication designed for businesses and business leaders. And we believe the Survival Industry is a very large tent (to borrow a phrase) that ranges from prepping to homesteading, tactical gear and training to urban farming, financial education to self-defense, food storage to permaculture, and on and on.
The survival industry is incredibly diverse and expanding dramatically. Sole proprietors, small businesses, large corporations, entrepreneurs, retailers, manufacturers, writers, podcasters and trainers are all competing for a small but growing market.
PBN’s goal is to be the one source that helps Survival Industry businesses become more successful. We will explore the latest industry trends, market moves and best practices, and we will highlight, promote and inform our readers about the people and businesses that make up this industry.
The business leaders and decision makers risking their financial wellbeing and their personal reputation to succeed in this industry need a single source for information about their industry, whether pure business news, trends, profiles or the culture. More importantly, businesses need advice from the experts about how to succeed in their chosen field. And businesses need an easy way to learn about each other in order to make profitable connections and drive their own growth and success.
But beyond news and advice, we believe the men and women leading the various parts of the survival industry – preppers, self-sustainers, urban farmers, homesteaders and more – deserve to be celebrated and promoted. These businesses deserve to have their voices heard.
(That said, we do believe consumers will seek us out. Amidst the overwhelming amount of survival information available, consumers want an easy, objective way to learn about and differentiate all the bloggers, entrepreneurs and product manufacturers who hold the key to surviving or living off the land.)
But why choose now to create a new trade magazine covering the business of survival? People have been prepping, investing in their spirituality, or getting back to the basics of nature and farm life, and away from over industrialization for years, right?
Well, yes. But the difference is that today we believe there is a greater number of existential threats to our way of life and our health, and a new urgency to dealing with them. And people are waking up.
The Survival Industry is legitimate. It benefits our society. It creates jobs, pays taxes and improves the lives of its customers. This industry, larger than it’s ever been and still growing, needs and deserves a voice.
