Manufactured by a 45-year-old Israeli textile company specializing in designing, tailoring, dyeing, printing and finishing textiles for linen, tablecloths and curtains, the new sleeping bag sleeve by OFFIS Textile, Ltd., was produced especially for wet conditions, where many insects are widespread.
Most serious diseases in the outdoors such as Yellow Fever, Malaria, the Zika virus and more are transmitted by insects. Mosquitoes are the most dangerous, says the company.
The new sleeping bag measures 240 centimeters long and 80 cm wide (94 inches long, 32 inches wide) and weighs 0.7 pounds.
It also offers the following features:
- It uses Permethrin as an anti-mosquito finish to reduce mosquitoes landing and biting. Also effective against dust mites, ticks and bed bugs.
- The sleeping bag finish is highly stable to repeated washing.
- Safe for all use, including children.
- The finish is dermatological tested and is non-irritant to allergic persons.
The OFFIS Sleeping Bag Sleeve has been developed primarily for the use of government security forces, including NATO and the German military, and for camping and sport activities, but clearly it will fit well into a bug out bag or other survival gear caches.
